This legislation is pathetic. I fail to see how the provincial government could do any more to make Ontario a laughing stock on the world stage. Read more

It strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. It will worsen traffic congestion, not reduce it. The government’s ownexperts have consistently said that bike lanes are not a cause of gridlock. Read more

I would like to see this bill expand access to more modes of transportation like improving bike lane access, widening sidewalks and allowing other roadway uses other that to cars. Read more

I ride my bike to work most weekdays. Bike lanes have made my commute much safer and faster. If I ride my bike there is one less car on the streets of Toronto, which reduces traffic and air pollution. Read more

Bike lanes need to be prioritized in Ontario. Bikes do not pollute the environment. Smart street design (ex. limiting right or left turns), robust and affordable public transit, and protected and safe bike lanes are what our urban areas need. Read more

I am a cyclist, a pedestrian, a transit-taker, and a driver. My position: Stop Bill 60. 1. As a cyclist: - Having separate bike lanes, especially those with a physical barrier between me and cars makes me feel safest. Read more

The province should not be taking away municipalities ability to make locally relevant decisions on the placement of bike lanes, street safety in school areas, seasonal patio placement, and transit priority lanes. Read more

Consider a research trip to Germany or The Netherlands. They have done the deep thinking and implementation that proves that encouraging other forms of transportation than cars makes life better - in small towns and large cities. We must strive for a better experience for PEOPLE, not just drivers. Read more

I am a daily bicycle commuter from the West end of the city of Toronto to Downtown. I grew up in Toronto and have always used my bike as my main mode of transportation. It is more reliable than the subway, faster than driving a car in the city, better for the environment and for me. Read more

Do not remove the bike lanes or prevent municipalities from installing them. They are critical infrastructure and help keep roads clear! Otherwise bikers will have to drive, creating even more traffic. Read more

This legislation is backwards. I am a car driver and a cyclist in Toronto. I want to feel safe on my bike and I don't want to be stuck in traffic. The safer and more pedestrian/cyclist friendly we can make the city, the better it will go when I have to drive my car. Read more

Let's not forget that, for Bill 212, Ontario's Ministry of Transportation hired the engineering and urban planning firm CIMA+ to consult on the effects of removing bike lanes in Toronto, and their conclusion was that bike lanes do not cause congestion. And, in many cases, they ease it. Read more

Why do we have to put bike lanes in this city, especially in downtown where all the streets are so small? It makes the traffic worse than it already is, and we have to spend a lot of time getting around by car or even by bus. If possible, please remove these bike lanes from the streets. Read more

This proposal would make Ontario’s roads less safe, more congested, and less responsive to local needs. Protected bike lanes reduce collisions and injuries for all road users. Read more

Hi, I'm a cyclist living in Toronto, I use bike lanes to get to work and for running errands. I can't afford a car in the city, and if I did get one, it certainly wouldn't help with the traffic problems! Read more
