I am very much against amalgamation of CA's in order to, as Mininster McCarthy said on our local news "Get shovels in the ground sooner". CAs play a vital role in protecting source water and mitigating flooding. Forget the shovels for goodness sake! This is about saving lives. Read more

I am located in Thunder Bay, within the lakehead region conservation authority jurisdiction. I do not agree with decision to group the LRCA with the Lake Huron conservation authority and other regions. Read more

The local CA's have a closer understanding of what is happening in their respective areas that will be lost once a centralized position is taken. We would like the proposal scrapped leaving the local CA's to determine how to go forward in their respective areas.

I do not think amalgamating all these boards is a good idea. The smaller conservation boards will be forgotten and the larger ones will have the most say. It is also important that the local governments be on these. Read more

The northwest should not be just jumbled in with municipalities like Hanover abd Kincardine. We do not have the same environmental conservation needs. the lakehead conservation authority SHOULD NOT be combined. Read more

Reducing the number of conservation authorities in Ontario into such a low number is harmful and greatly impedes the stated aims of the 1946 Conservation Authorities Act which established these organizations. Read more

The Ford government’s plan to amalgamate conservation authorities undermines local based decision making. These key decisions need to remain local to avoid Ford getting his greedy hands on land for economic development at the expense of community development. Read more
