Approval was granted for a site plan amendment to allow Drew Harrison Haulage Ltd. to amend the current site plan to allow for the importation of 500,250 m³ of excess soil to restore the site to its original grade in Prince Edward County.

The environmental assessment requirements for the York1 waste disposal site project were removed with the Royal Assent of the Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025, on June 5, 2025, to help provide additional waste capacity in Ontario.

The Province of Ontario has passed Bill 5: Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025, which makes amendments to the current Endangered Species Act, 2007 and enacts the Species Conservation Act, 2025 (to come into force on a future date).
