In co-operation with the Fisheries Management Zone (FMZ) 10 Advisory Council, we have developed a Draft Fisheries Management Plan for FMZ 10. The draft plan outlines the status of fisheries, sets fish population objectives, and provides direction for the management of recreational fisheries and aquatic resources within FMZ 10.
The York Region Wastewater Act, 2021, was initially proposed as Bill 306. Bill 306 died on the Order Paper when the Legislature was prorogued on September 3, 2021. As a result, we are not moving forward with this proposal and no decision will be made in respect of Bill 306. This notice is to advise that the proposal is closed.

We are proposing to remove the need for certain types of dams to obtain a permit to take water. The construction and alteration of dams will continue to be regulated under existing provincial regulatory requirements and approval processes so that we can continue to protect lakes, rivers and waterways in Ontario.
We are seeking feedback on draft guidance which will help municipalities in implementing provincial direction related to watershed and sub-watershed planning. A watershed is an area drained by a river and its tributaries. A sub-watershed is an area drained by a tributary or portion of a stream.
We are seeking public feedback on the Reducing Litter and Waste in Our Communities: Discussion Paper, which expands upon commitments in Preserving and Protecting our Environment for Future Generations: A Made-in-Ontario Environment Plan. The paper poses questions that will help guide future decision-making to divert more waste from landfill.

Ontario and Canada have signed a historic bilateral conservation agreement for boreal caribou under the federal Species at Risk Act with the objective to sustain or improve the environmental conditions necessary for the recovery of the boreal caribou, while considering social and economic factors.
Ontario is implementing a temporary suspension of certain provisions in the Excess Soil Regulation that came into effect January 1, 2022, until January 1, 2023. The pause will provide more time to understand the provisions and refine their implementation.
