We have made regulations, including the Comprehensive Environmental Assessment Projects regulation, and taken related actions to move Ontario’s environmental assessment program to a project list approach under the Environmental Assessment Act.

The Rules of Practice and Procedure for the Normal Farm Practices Protection Board have been modernized to clarify opportunities for public engagement in Board hearings while eliminating unnecessary length and delays on matters which could be appealed to the Divisional Court.

We issued an Environmental Compliance Approval to The Recycling Depot GP Inc. as a General Partner for and on behalf of the Recycling Depot LP for an increase in daily tonnage and maximum storage at their existing waste disposal site, used for the processing of excess soil, and located at 195 Bethridge Road, Toronto.

The Building Better Communities and Conserving Watersheds Act, 2017, was passed on December 12, 2017. Once in force, it will give communities a stronger voice in land use planning and replace the Ontario Municipal Board with the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal.

This is a waste processing and transfer station located at 375 Gage Avenue North in Hamilton, Ontario.

We have approved a new Environmental Compliance Approval No. 2936-DHGLJZ for York1 Tiffin Recycling Ltd. for the construction and operation of a waste disposal site (processing) located within a 1.639 hectares total site area located at 529 Tiffin Street in the City of Barrie.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) has been issued to YORK1 Rosewarne Transfer Ltd., This approval is for the operation of a mobile shredder, to be used at various locations for processing construction and demolition waste and municipal waste, wood waste; as well as, grind brush and leaf and yard waste.

An approval was granted to The Severn Lodge Limited for an on-site sewage treatment and subsurface disposal system to serve a seasonal resort - The Severn Lodge, located at 116 Gloucester Trail, in the Township of Port severn.
