On November 24, 2017, we amended the energy efficiency regulation with new and enhanced efficiency standards for 12 products. The amendment aligns Ontario’s energy efficiency standards with leading North American jurisdictions, helps reduce the environmental impact of energy use and encourages energy conservation.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted in respect of Application 60-C-183326 for the creation of one (1) new resource-based recreational lot for land described as PIN 42180-1017, Minaki Area, Unincorporated Territory, District of Kenora.

Proposed regulatory amendments related to the treatment of corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs) were approved and will allow Industrial Conservation Initiative (ICI) participants to reduce their GA charges based on the electricity purchased under the eligible PPA.

This proposal notice invited public comments on The Future of the Great Lakes Economy: Ontario’s Marine Transportation Strategy, a living document outlining a 10-year vision with actions to support the needs of the Ontario marine sector. The comments received have and will continue to guide and inform the implementation of the Strategy’s actions.

Approval is granted for existing storm sewer serving Speare Seeds Limited site, located at 99 John Street North, in the Town of Minto. The storm sewer outlet via an existing outlet pipe into the existing municipal ditch.

Approval is granted for the establishment of sewage works consist of storm sewers, a dry pond, an oil/grit separator and stormwater outlet pipe dischargeing stormwater runoff from a portion of the northeast corner of the KNL Stage site to the existing Kizell Creek.

Application 60-C-246449, to create a new 1.24 hectare waterfront lot to be used for resource-based recreational use, was approved as redlined by the Ministry, subject to conditions. Related applications 60-C-232065 (ERO 019-9227) and 60-C-246569 (ERO 019-9249) were also approved subject to conditions. 

Amendments have been made to the Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Act, through Bill 91, to create an authorization process for special projects to test or demonstrate new activities, including carbon storage, and to enhance measures to safeguard people and the environment. Bill 91 received royal assent on June 8, 2023.

On December 20, 2024, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Minister's Zoning Order with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 561/24 in the City of Toronto. The City of Toronto requested that the Minister consider making the Zoning Order.
