We have decided to proceed with updates to the Technical Guideline for Cleaner Transportation Fuels. The updates provide new direction for calculating the GHG intensity of bio-based content that is produced in facilities concurrently with other non-fuel ethanol products e.g., different grades of ethanol, such as beverage or medical-grade.

We decided to proceed with ending acetone reporting in Ontario. This will align us with the federal government and other provinces that have not required acetone release reporting since 1998 and reduce burden for business without compromising protection of human health and the environment.

This decision is for a new Permit to Take Water for Highland Trail Developments Limited. Water will be taken from two wells for dewatering purposes in Scarborough, Ontario. Permit to Take Water No. 5565-C9FLYV was issued December 8, 2021.

We have issued a Permit to Take Water No. 0212-C9QQ8B on February 10, 2022 which cancels and replaces Permits to take Water No. 7334-B5LHF7 and 0614-B5NJTP for Enbridge Pipelines Inc. located in the County of Hastings and County of Lennox and Addington, Ontario.

The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of December 31, 2031

We have renewed Permit Number 1243-BMKPVH which replaces Permit To Take Water No. 7727-BBPHWB for remediation purposes at Gordon Lake.

A decision has been made to implement an automatic financial penalty as part of a graduated penalty approach for hunters who fail to submit their mandatory hunter report(s). This penalty is an additional tool to promote hunter reporting compliance and improve reporting data used to make wildlife management decisions.

The Ministry has issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval to 535 Manitou Drive for industrial stormwater management works serving 535 Manitou Drive, located in the City of Kitchener, Ontario.

The Permit to Take Water No. 7771-DADKFR was issued to St. Albert Cheese Co-operative Inc. on January 15, 2025, for an amendment to the existing PTTWNo. 0033-9QLQ96 for an increase in daily volume in PW1 and PW4 for a cheese production plant in Cambridge, Ontario for one year.

Permit to Take Water No. 2445-DHHQBJ has been issued to Kawartha Golf and Country Club for golf irrigation purposes. Water will be taken from four wells and one pond, located in the City of Peterborough, Ontario.

Permit to Take Water No. 7681-DT5K36 was issued to Oxford Sand & Gravel Limited on May 8, 2026, to renew Permit to Take Water No. 2320-ABMRBA for industrial purposes. Water will be taken from one well and one stream in the Township of Norwich, County of Oxford, Ontario, for 5 years.

The Exploration Permit was issued and is valid for a period of 3 years.

Permit to Take Water No. 8761-B5NLCZ was issued, which cancels and replaces Permit to Take Water No. 2768-A51M4U. The permit was issued on December 5, 2018 with an expiry date of October 31, 2021.
