The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing is reviewing application 54-C-244188 for a lot addition and an access easement between two properties in the Unincorporated Township of Grenfell, District of Timiskaming.

Feedback from phase 1 consultation on growing the Greenbelt including a Paris Galt Moraine study area and ideas for adding Urban River Valleys was considered. On March 24, 2022, Phase 2 consultation was launched on proposed amendments to the Greenbelt Plan and Greenbelt Area boundary regulation to add 13 new and expanded Urban River Valleys.
This proposal is for the renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 8404-7YBLB2 for Robins Holdings Inc. and is for commercial purposes including water bottling. The new issued permit No. 0022-CL9PPA was issued on November 17, 2022, with an expiry date of November 17, 2032.
We amended the Renewable Energy Approval for the Nation Rise Wind Farm for minor project changes including the addition of a collection route within the already permitted project area, an additional access road to the central laydown area, and an additional disturbance area at one of the turbine locations.

Application number 52-C-246297 would sever approximately 0.01 hectares of land from Summer Resort Location CL277 to add to Summer Resort Location CL278 to correct an encroachment, and it would also create an easement in the shared driveway to facilitate continued legal access.
A Director's Order is being issued to authorize the release of approximately $34,000 of financial assurance to the ministry to retain a clean-up contractor to remove and dispose of waste oil that spilled on site and to take steps to reduce the risk of future spills at the site. A delay in issuing the order could result in harm to the environment.
A new Permit to Take Water for short term construction dewatering and long term drainage for Tippett South Inc. was issued. Water will be taken from a well located at 30 Tippett Road, Toronto. Permit No. 6618-BRHSHE was issued on August 7, 2020 for a period of 10 years.
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) sought feedback on ideas to address the unique housing needs for rural and northern Ontario municipalities. MMAH incorporated this feedback into the development of a province-wide land use planning document. MMAH has issued the Provincial Planning Statement, taking effect on October 20, 2024.

We have decided to change the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority’s mandate to include digital reporting services through its registry for a wider range of waste and resource recovery programs. Combining these services will save businesses time and money as a larger group of users will share costs and benefit from a modern registry.
We approved an amended Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) (waste disposal site) No. A680066 for a 6.3-hectare waste disposal site (processing/transfer). The ECA amends the approval of the existing transfer facility and approves a new anaerobic digestion facility.

The ministry is proposing to bring forward changes to support Ontario municipalities to recruit knowledgeable building officials from outside Ontario by eliminating labour mobility barriers, while protecting public health and safety. This will be enabled through the creation of a Building Official Equivalency Assessment process.
