The Resource Management and Safety Act, 2025, received Royal Assent on December 3, 2025. Effective January 1, 2026, the Forest Fires Prevention Act becomes the Wildland Fire Management Act, with changes to address growing wildland fire risks and modernize the wildland fire management program.

A new Permit to Take Water No. 8768-C2CLU5 has been issued to George Benn and Sons Construction Limited on April 26, 2021 for the purpose of quarry dewatering and dust suppression activites located in (Ernestown) Loyalist Township, Lennox and Addington County. The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of April 26, 2031.

A new Permit to Take Water No. 3240-CCBVKS for Safety-Kleen Canada Inc. was issued on March 10, 2022 for construction dewatering purposes in the Township of Woolwich, Ontario.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on June 28, 2021 in respect of Application 58-C-184016 for the creation of one new resource-based recreational lot in respect of land described as PIN 62319-0364 and PIN 62319-0090 in the Unincorporated Township of Dawson Road Lots, District of Thunder Bay.

A new Permit to Take Water No. 3237-C57RGU for Flochem Ltd. was issued on August 5, 2021 for industrial purposes in the City of Guelph, Ontario.

We have issued an amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval (air) No. 3948-BF7RDK for Glencore Canada Corporation, a mineral processing facility located in the City of Timmins, Ontario.

Application 58-C-190981 was approved by the Ministry on November 20, 2019. Applicant has 1 year to satisfy the standard conditions of draft approval, otherwise the approval will lapse. The last date of appeal of this decision under the Planning Act is December 10, 2019.

We have renewed Permit to Take Water No. 2854-CJ4HZ8 to the Ladies' Golf Club of Toronto Limited on September 11, 2022, for 10 years. This permit cancels and replaces permit No. 4678-8UJRJ3. Water will be taken from two wells and one watercourse for golf course irrigation purposes at the Ladies' Golf Club, located in the City of Markham, Ontario.

This Application 60-C-189899 for Consent was given conditional approval on February 7, 2019 and was amended on January 10, 2020. The last day to appeal this decision under the Planning Act is January 30, 2020.

We have approved new Environmental Compliance Approval No. 7403-BHHJ5F to Van Geest Bros. Limited for existing stormwater management facilities serving a greenhouse site in City of St. Catharines, Ontario.

Permit to Take Water No. 6562-DEUN4Z was issued to GolfNorth Properties Inc. on May 2, 2025. Water will be taken from one watercourse for golf course irrigation purposes, located in the Township of Woolwich, Ontario.

A new Permit to Take Water No. 2462-BPXT6B was issued to Safety-Kleen Canada Inc. Water will be taken for golf course irrigation purposes.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 7810-BP5JSE on May 7, 2020 which cancels and replaces Permit To Take Water No. 6132-AL4LLR for Hornby Glen Realty Inc. Water will be taken from one (1) watercourse located in Halton Hills, Ontario. The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of December 31, 2023.

A new vehicle emission regulation under the Environmental Protection Act and amendments to the Vehicle Permits Regulation under the Highway Traffic Act will be in effect January 1, 2020, which will clarify and strengthen on-road vehicle emissions requirements and set out rules around the testing of emissions from heavy diesel commercial vehicle.
