A decision was made on October 10, 2025 to approve the City of Burlington Official Plan Amendment 2, as adopted by By-law No. 45-2024, with modifications. The approved Official Plan Amendment 2 amends the text and schedules of the existing Burlington Official Plan 2020 to direct future development within three Protected Major Transit Station Areas.

The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has amended the Emissions Performance Standards (EPS) and greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting programs to clarify requirements, improve efficiency and address fundamental changes in some Ontario industries.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) was granted for an open-loop geothermal heating and cooling system at 786 Country Squire Road, in the Town of Woolwich, Ontario.

The Ministry issued an amended Environmental Compliance Approval to Maple Leaf Marinas Holdings GP Inc. for sewage works for the treatment and subsurface disposal of domestic sewage, rated at a total maximum design capacity of 86,490 litre/day, servicing the existing seasonal Wye Heritage Marina, located in the Township of Tay, County of Simcoe.

The Ministry of Education has updated its Statement of Environmental Values to reflect government and Ministry priorities.

The ministry has issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval to Crane Lake Discovery Camp for the construction of three new onsite septic systems for the youth camp, in addition to the two existing septic systems, located at 200 South Crane Lake Road in the Municipality of the Archipelago, Ontario.

This Permit to Take Water is being issued for operations associated with the Hardrock Project, for which public consultation on this alternative was previously conducted under an Individual Environmental Assessment (EA Reference No. 14175; File No. EA-02-10).

Ontario has made amendments to Ontario Regulation 406/19 to enable greater reuse of excess soil, provide added flexibility in soil management options, and reduce costs for businesses. This is an update to our previous December 2024 decision notice regarding a change to the in-effect date of a provision to restrict landfilling of cleaner excess soil

We have issued a Director's Order No. 5581-BHHKSK to Havana Group Supplies Inc., Waterdown Gardens Supplies Ltd. and their directors/officers regarding the presence of excess soil material on the site with the potential to discharge contaminants into the natural environment.

An amendment to the Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 5940-7P6LUS has been issued to The Sarjeant Company Limited for the operation of one portable ready-mix concrete batching plant within Ontario.

This approval is to amend Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 4602-AE6PUR with Limited Operational Flexibility for The Hillman Group Canada ULC, a fasteners and bolts manufacturing and coating facility located in the City of Toronto, Ontario.

An Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) with the Limited Operational Flexibility has been granted to Magna International Inc., a Motor Vehicle Metal Stamping facility located in the City of Brampton, Ontario.

The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has approved and issued an amended Environmental Compliance Approval No. A680029 for a waste disposal site (Transfer and Processing) to be used for the transfer and processing of solid non-hazardous institutional, commercial, construction and demolition waste located in Whitby, Ontario

The Statements of Environmental Values of the former Ministries of Culture and Tourism have been replaced with a single Statement of Environmental Values for the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries that reflects MHSTCI’s name, structure and mandate.

An amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval (Air & Noise) No. 7667-8KCQDY was issued to Imperial Oil Limited for a new loading arm design at the rail loading bays and associated vapour combustion unit in Haldimand, Ontario.
