We are proposing regulatory changes to exempt proponents from requiring environmental permissions for certain low risk activities to better align approval requirements with the level of risk and re-allocate resources to areas where higher oversight is beneficial.
We have approved updates to the assessment reports and source protection plans for the Ausable Bayfield Maitland Valley Source Protection Region. Proceeding with these updates will ensure the assessment reports and source protection plans are current and in place to protect sources of drinking water for the region.
New regulations have been finalized to focus conservation authorities on their core mandate by prescribing mandatory programs and services they must provide, giving municipalities greater control over what conservation authority (CA) programs and services they will fund, and consolidating “Conservation Areas” regulations.
The ministry is not proceeding with the proposed Land Use Compatibility Guideline as a result of feedback received through the Environmental Registry. The current D-Series guidelines for land use compatibility will remain in effect. Any potential future updates to land use compatibility guidance would be posted as a new proposal on the Registry.

Ontario Parks has amended the Devil’s Glen Provincial Park Management Plan and has added 18 hectares (ha) of acquired land to the park. The approved management plan will protect nature and biodiversity, while also allowing for ecologically sustainable outdoor recreation to occur.
We are implementing regulatory changes related to the management of excess construction soil and redevelopment of brownfield sites. These changes will reduce soil management costs and promote brownfields redevelopment, while protecting human health and the environment.

Get-R-Done Farms Ltd. has applied for a licence to operate a pit below the water table to excavate aggregate from a 27.7 hectare site in the Township of Adelaide Middlesex.

A decision has been made to proceed with the design of a legislative framework for commercial-scale geologic carbon storage in Ontario that would enable the development of technology-ready commercial-scale projects and the continued testing and demonstration of newer carbon storage technologies.

While the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH) Transportation Plan for 2051 is still under development, this posting is being closed. The input from this notice that originated from 2017 informed the development of a comprehensive range of transportation planning goals and objectives that is providing guiding direction for the plan.
We approved a new multi-media Environmental Compliance Approval No. 9501-BG3JPF to the City of Stratford's Water Pollution Control Plant for the receipt of organic waste and the processing of the organic waste (anaerobic digestion) mixed with sludge generated at the plant to produce soil supplements and renewable natural gas.
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) sought input in 2023 on proposed policies for an integrated province-wide land use planning document. On April 10, 2024, MMAH released an updated proposed Provincial Planning Statement for public input. (ERO# 019-8462)
