A decision was made on February 8, 2024 to approve, with three modifications, Official Plan Amendment 269 to the County of Oxford Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 6437-2022. The official plan amendment, as modified, is consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement and provides policy direction for agricultural land use within the County.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) has been issued to The Sarjeant Company Limited for the operation of one mobile ready-mix concrete batching plant.

A permit to take water was not required.

This renewal (Category 3) Permit to Take Water No. 8583-8WPL3N is for dewatering purposes. Water will be taken from one pit related to pits and quarries activities, located in an Unorganized Area in the District of Thunder Bay, Ontario. The permit was issued on March 19, 2021 under Permit No. 7656-B3MQS3.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 3823-CPRT3B on March 31, 2023 which cancels and replaces Permit No. 5410-8YQNXU for Charles Herbert Simon in Guelph-Eramosa Township, Ontario for the purposes of a managing water levels in Eden Mills Millpond. The new permit expires on March 31, 2033.

Permit to Take Water No. 4260-BB5KRG issued on April 23, 2019, which renews and replaces Permit to Take Water No. 2586-9GHQSJ and expires April 23, 2029.

The application for the Permit to Take Water was cancelled by the ministry. No permit was issued.

Approval for establishment of industrial stormwater management Works to service a truck terminal with 48 truck trailer parking project, located in Windsor for the collection, transmission, treatment and disposal of stormwater run-off from a total catchment area of 1.01 hectares,to provide normal Level water quality, quantity and erosion protection.

Permit to Take Water No. 4711-DERPQQ has been issued to 2800319 Ontario Inc., as general partner for and on behalf of Liv (Hawk Ridge) LP for construction dewatering purposes. Water will be taken from one well, in Orillia, Ontario.

We amended regulations under the Mining Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the Environmental Bill of Rights that came into force on April 1, 2021. The amended regulations include updating section references to align with the legislative amendments to the Mining Act, which received Royal Assent on December 10, 2019, under Bill 132.

We issued a Minister’s Directive to the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) requiring them to implement a 12-year electricity conservation and demand-side management (eDSM) Framework starting January 1, 2025, which includes a budget of up to $10.9 billion for the IESO to deliver a portfolio of electricity energy efficiency (EE) programs.

We have issued Permit to Take Water No. P-300-5206242253 on August 4, 2023 to Meaford Golf Course Inc in Meaford, Ontario, to renew Permit to Take Water No. 6322-98RNLD. Water will be taken from one pond and one watercourse for golf course irrigation. The new permit expires on October 1, 2033.

On April 1, 2024, O. Reg. 240/00 Advanced Exploration, Mine Development and Closure Under Part VII of the Act will be replaced with a new regulation, O Reg. 35/24, titled "Rehabilitation of Lands." This new regulation retains most of the provisions of O. Reg. 240/00, integrating amendments and aligning with the Building More Mines Act, 2023. 

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. P-300-5229047655, which cancels and replaces Permit No. 2341-BM8KPD, for Karson Holdings Inc. Water will be taken for aggregate washing and aggregate extraction purposes at the McGee Pit, located in Carp, Ontario.

The new permit will expire on December 1, 2033.

A Permit to Take Water No. 7260-CQ4PUM was issued to Brampton Brick Limited on March 27, 2023 to renew Permit No. 8731-BUFPMF for five years. Water will be taken for dewatering purposes to facilitate rehabilitation at the Stage 1 Quarry, located at the Cheltenham Quarry in the Town of Caledon, Regional Municipality of Peel, Ontario.

We have made a decision to issue a Type “K” Forest Resource Processing Facility Licence to Lake Nipigon Forest Management Inc.

We approved a new Environmental Compliance Approval (Industrial Sewage) No. 6295-B3NJFB for a proposed stormwater management systems establishment upon final closure of the landfill, servicing the Domtar Mill Residue (Big Ben) Landfill.
