A decision was made on November 18, 2025 to approve Official Plan Amendment 62 to the City of Kitchener Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 2025-048. Official Plan Amendment 62 implements Strategic Growth Area land use planning framework for three Protected Major Transit Stations: Block Line, Fairway, and Sportsworld.

An Environmental Compliance Approval with the Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise) has been granted to Bartek Ingredients Inc., a chemical manufacturing facility located in the City of Hamilton, Ontario.

A decision was made on December 16, 2025 to approve, with fourteen modifications, City of Waterloo Official Plan Amendment 58, as adopted by By-law 2024-097. Official Plan Amendment 58 updates policies and schedules to comply with the Planning Act and be consistent with the Provincial Planning Statement, 2024 (PPS).

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-21-000318 to Paul Wilson for early exploration activities approximately 90 kilometres Southwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario, in Prelate Lake Area, District of Thunder Bay, North West Region.

A Certificate of Property Use was issued to 1291105 Ontario Limited for the property located 501 Krug Street, Kitchener.

On April 1, 2024, O. Reg. 240/00 Advanced Exploration, Mine Development and Closure Under Part VII of the Act will be replaced with a new regulation, O Reg. 35/24, titled "Rehabilitation of Lands." This new regulation retains most of the provisions of O. Reg. 240/00, integrating amendments and aligning with the Building More Mines Act, 2023. 

The Minister has identified 29 provincially significant employment zones that receive enhanced protection under A Place to Grow. Based on feedback, the Ministry has corrected any technical errors to the boundaries for zones and issued revised maps to be used in the Plan’s implementation but will still consider requests to review the zones.

We issued Certificate of Property Use No. 7280-ATHMC5 to Everest Canadian Storage Company for the property located at 24-60 Sanford Avenue North in Hamilton, Ontario.

The ministry issued a Certificate of Property Use to The Corporation of the City of Stratford for their property located 350 Downie Street in the City of Stratford, Ontario.

An approval is granted for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (waste disposal site) for W. Tomlinson Limited, the operator of a waste processing site (excess soil and liquid soil) located at 2870 Rideau Road, Ottawa, Ontario.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 2273-B5KPFG on December 5, 2018 which cancels and replaces Permit to take Water No. 7443-A52Q78 for Enbridge Pipelines Inc. located in Frankford, Ontario.

The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of October 31, 2021.

A decision was made on July 15, 2025, to approve, with modifications, the new Town of Cobalt Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 2024-01. The approved new Town of Cobalt Official Plan outlines a comprehensive framework of new and revised policies to guide growth and development. 

Certificate of Property Use (CPU) 6872-DAAHFK was issued to 150 Steeles Milton Inc. on May 28, 2025, for future “Residential Use”, Parkland Use” and “Institutional Use”, as defined by O. Reg. 153/04 (the "Regulation"), as amended, made under the Environmental Protection Act(the "Act").

The forest management plan for the Gordon Cosens Forest is complete. We are closing this notice as an administrative action.

The plan will ensure the sustainability of the forest resource, encourage continued biodiversity, and provide social and economic opportunities of the Crown forest.

We finalized the regulation that will make battery producers environmentally accountable and financially responsible for collecting and managing their products at end-of-life in February 2020. The regulation for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) was finalized in September 2020.
