Approval is granted to amend the site existing waste disposal approval to increase the waste slag and waste acid storage capacity, subject to the submission of additional financial assurance.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on December 19, 2022 for the creation of one new resource-based recreational lot on lands in Tudhope unincorporated township, District of Timiskaming. A Notice of Change, dated December 17, 2024, has corrected and clarified the standard conditions.  

The Minister has issued an Endangered Species Act Overall Benefit Permit to Dalron Construction Limited for construction activities that will impact Blanding’s Turtle. The permit includes actions to eliminate and minimize adverse effects and provide beneficial actions for Blanding’s Turtle as well as monitoring and reporting requirements.

We have issued an amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval No. 5131-CADPL5 for De Beers Canada Inc. for the proposed greywater treatment system servicing the closure of Victor Diamond Mine, located in the Unorganized District of Kenora, Ontario.

The Minister has issued an overall benefit permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007, allowing the City of London to translocate Kentucky Coffee-trees to allow for the rebuild of the Springbank Reservoir.

The permit includes actions to benefit the species and minimize adverse effects, and outlines monitoring and reporting requirements.

We are proceeding with the plan to protect Slate Island provincial park’s natural and cultural heritage, and incorporating changes based on Indigenous and public feedback. The plan will guide the use, development, management and operation of the park for a 20-year period.

We decided to amend the Renewable Energy Approvals regulation to add eligibility requirements so that only projects with the appropriate municipal zoning can be issued a renewable energy approval.

On November 23, 2023, an amendment to O.Reg. 509/18, made under the Electricity Act, 1998 was filed to introduce rolling incorporation of Ontario’s efficiency standards with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) efficiency standards for 24 space and water heating products regulated by Ontario and NRCan.

An amendment approval is granted to Safety-Kleen Canada Inc. (London Facility) to accept and operate a a 0.2-hectare waste transfer facility currently approved for various hazardous, liquid industrial, and non-hazardous wastes, mostly from the industrial and automotive sectors.

Approval is granted to amend the existing Environmental Compliance Approval No. 3168-BH9JQY issued to EcoVac Solutions Ltd. for a 0.157 hectare site to be used as a liquid soil processing facility located at 60A Baywood Road, Toronto, Ontario.

We have updated our compliance policy to provide greater transparency on how the ministry responds to environmental incidents, reduce burden on the regulated community and enhance the ministry’s ability to swiftly address incidents that pose a higher risk to the natural environment or human health.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on April 13, 2021 in respect of Application 57-C-210466 to sever a 1.16-hectare piece of land from PIN 31386-0129 to be transferred to the neighboring lot, in Aberdeen unincorporated township, Algoma District. The last day this decision can be appealed is May 3, 2021.

Approval is granted to amend the ECA by accepting the revised Design and Operations Report and entrance to the site from the Lake Road instead of South Service Road.

The Ministry of Mines is proposing a new Statement of Environmental Values to reflect the present structure and mandate of the Ministry.

Amendments were made to O. Reg. 267/03 under the Nutrient Management Act, 2002 to remove the five-year expiry of the Agricultural Operation Planning certificate. Housekeeping amendments to the Regulation and Protocol were also made to add clarity. No changes were made to the proposal as a result of consultation.
