The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the permit application PR-21-000257 to COBALT INDUSTRIES OF CANADA INC for early exploration activities approximately 20 km south of the city of Temiskaming Shores, Ontario, in Coleman, Gillies Limit, Lorrain Townships, District of Timiskaming, Northeast Region.

An evaluation of the process to obtain a mining lease was completed. We implemented minor improvements to support claimholders with the mining lease process.
The ministry completed a review of bulk sample thresholds in order to ensure the thresholds met the balance of a competitive mining sector with environmental protection and sustainability. Changes to the bulk sample thresholds are not required.
We are proposing amendments to R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 565: Public Pools (“Regulation”) under the Health Protection and Promotion Act to make it more flexible for pool operators to comply with safety and water chemistry requirements while maintaining public health and safety in aquatic environments for everyone.
