The Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has made a decision not to issue an overall benefit permit to U. Lucchetta Construction Limited.

French River Contracting Limited was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a pit in the Municipality of Markstay-Warren.

The Mining Act was amended to enable regulations to establish a “permit by rule” model, allowing claim holders to sell the end product of a bulk sample and retain proceeds, provided that certain conditions are met.  There are no anticipated environmental impacts associated with this decision.

The government has released A Place to Grow, which replaces the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, 2017. It introduces more flexibility to planning and greater local autonomy. It addresses barriers to building homes, creating jobs, attracting investments and putting in place the right infrastructure while protecting the environment.

The Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks issued an overall benefit permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 (ESA) to Prodigy Gold Inc. to develop an open pit mine that will impact two species at risk bats and their habitat. The permit includes actions to benefit the species, minimize adverse effects, and outlines monitoring.

The Director has issued an order under the Environmental Protection Act for the purpose of requiring delineation of Perchloroethylene (PCE)-related contamination that may be present at the site and discharging from the site, located at 180 Wortley Road, London.

The Minister has issued a permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 to the Regional Municipality of York for bridge construction activities that may adversely impact Redside Dace. The permit includes actions to minimize adverse effects, actions to benefit the species, and monitoring and reporting requirements.

The Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has issued an overall benefit permit to the Town of LaSalle for construction activities that may impact Eastern Foxsnake and Dense Blazing Star, two species at risk. The permit includes actions to minimize adverse effects, benefit the species, as well as monitoring and reporting requirements.

The minister has issued an overall benefit permit to the Regional Municipality of Halton for construction activities which will impact Silver Shiner, a species at risk fish. The permit includes actions to provide an overall benefit to the species and minimize adverse effects, and outlines monitoring and reporting requirements.

We issued an Environmental Compliance Approval to Clean Harbors Canada, Inc. for their 520 Southgate Drive, Guelph location.

This amended approval allows a 60% increase in the storage of liquid hazardous wastes, additional solid hazardous waste storage, and the construction of an outdoor solidification pit for liquid industrial waste.

We issued the order to the Town of Atikokan upon consent on February 27, 2018. The order requires the town to complete upgrades to the municipal wastewater system within set timelines. The upgrades will prevent, decrease or eliminate adverse effects, including the backup of sewage into basements, and the discharge of sewage into the environment.

We approved the updated Fire Management Policy for Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves. These changes will modernize and streamline fire management planning for these protected areas and enhance opportunities for the ecological benefits of fire, while continuing to protect people and property.

We are modernizing our environmental assessment (EA) program to better serve communities now and in the future. Comments received on the discussion paper have been and will continue to be considered when making decisions on EA modernization initiatives.

We issued an environmental compliance approval to Greenflow Environmental Services Inc. for their 4151 Morris Drive, Burlington facility to allow the receipt of biomedical waste other than sharps at the site, and to allow the processing of biomedical waste that does not require incineration using microwave technology.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent for a severance for the purpose of a lot addition was granted on November 19, 2025, subject to conditions.

We have approved the amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval No. 2369-AAYNTD with Limited Operational Flexibility (Air) for Colacem Canada Inc., a new cement plant located in the Township of Champlain, United Counties of Prescott and Russell. This approval is issued in conjunction with ECA (Sewage Works) #9996-B6YQK.
