A decision was made to approve a site-specific amendment to remove certain lands in the Town of Oakville from the Parkway Belt West Plan (PBWP) and the associated Minister's Zoning Order (MZO), filed as Ontario Regulation 481/73.
The PBWP amendment is approved as Amendment No. 234 and the MZO amendment is filed as Ontario Regulation 457/24.
On March 24, 2023, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed an amendment to the Zoning Order O. Reg. 771/21, made pursuant to clause 47(8) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as O. Reg. 54/23.

A new regulation has been made under the Environmental Assessment Act (EAA) that sets out requirements Hydro One Networks Inc. (Hydro One) will need to undertake to proceed with the Northeast Power Line Project (Project) and for the EAA not to apply to the Project. Hydro One is collaborating with a consortium of First Nations partners.
We have made regulations and taken related actions to move Ontario to a project list approach under the Environmental Assessment Act. Projects that require a comprehensive environmental assessment are now set out in regulation.
On September 23, 2022, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed an amendment to the Zoning Order, O. Reg. 771/21, made pursuant to clause 47(8) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as O. Reg. 490/22. The City of Kawartha Lakes requested that the Minister consider amending the Zoning Order.
On November 4, 2022, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 516/22 to permit the development of a new emergency shelter and transitional housing facility.
On April 29, 2022, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed an Amendment to O. Reg. 355/20 made pursuant to clause 47(8) of the Planning Act with the Registrar of Regulations as O. Reg. 457/22. The City of Kawartha Lakes requested that the Minister consider amending the Zoning Order.
On May 12, 2023, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order, as Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 91/23 to permit the development of 16,000 units in Lakeview Village.

The minister has issued an overall benefit permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 to 2555569 Ontario Inc. to allow for the construction of an access road that will impact two species at risk and their habitat. The permit includes actions to minimize adverse effects, benefit the species, and monitoring and reporting requirements.
Approval was granted on August 5, 2020 for a new lot, but conditions were added. Applicants have one year to satisfy conditions otherwise approval will lapse.
