This decision extends the expiry dates of site-specific standards for suspended particulate matter, manganese and manganese compounds for Harsco Canada Corp.'s facility in Hamilton. The Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act, 2024, has amended the Development Charges Act, 1997 to: repeal the phase-in of development charges (DCs); reinstate studies as an eligible cost for DCs; reduce the DC freeze period; streamline the process for extending existing DC by-laws; and create a transition rule for the City of Ottawa.
