The Director of Mine Rehabilitation has made a decision on the Madsen Mine Amendment to a Closure Plan submitted by Pure Gold Inc. The decision is to file the Amendment.

Optimum Environmental Corp. in Toronto, has withdrawn their request to increase approved receiving limits and storage capacity. We have approved requests to install a second scale house, inbound queuing lane and limited operations during non-receiving hours to allow for more efficient management of on-site traffic and inbound and outbound vehicles.

This decision is to renew Permit to Take Water No. 3183-AZWHET for Fowler Construction Company Limited. Permit to Take Water No. P-300-3100117209 was issued on January 14, 2021 for aggregate washing and dewatering purposes at the Rosewarne Quarry, located in the Town of Bracebridge. The permit expires on January 13, 2031.

Application 60-C-223420 to sever Lot 3 (one of three new lots) on Wolf Island was approved on April 22, 2025 subject to conditions. The last date to appeal the decision under the Planning Act is May 12, 2025.

The Ministry of Mines (the "Ministry") has reviewed the feedback gathered on “Seeking input on opportunities to improve Ontario’s mineral exploration assessment work regime”.  A summary of the feedback received has been outlined herein. 

Application to amend the Niagara Escarpment Plan to re-designate approximately 82 hectares of land in Burlington from Escarpment Rural Area to Escarpment Natural Area and Escarpment Protection Area has been closed.

We have issued an Environmental Compliance Approval to Aucoin-Dixon Developments Inc. for sanitary sewers and storm sewers to accommodate Cedar Park II subdivision development in the community of Waterford, Norfolk County.

We issued an amended approval to Hino Motors Canada, Ltd. for the facility located at 1000 Ridgeway Rd, Woodstock, Ontario.

Permit to Take Water No. 4662-DMGJWW was issued to Walker Aggregates Inc. on October 21, 2022. Water will be taken from two ponds, located in the Township of Chatsworth, Ontario, for industrial aggregate washing purposes.

We will repeal the Toxics Reduction Act, 2009 and its associated regulations on December 31, 2021. This will remove unnecessary duplication with the federal program and reduce burden for industry.

Amended the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998, to provide government with authority to ensure fair and informed decision-making at the OEB including broadening participation in hearings, providing authority to make certain directives, temporarily reinstating the status quo 40-year revenue horizon, and streamlining certain leave to construct processes.

This was a proposal to renew a Permit to Take Water for 1000486968 Ontario Limited for water taking for commercial purposes under approved PTTW No. 0104-CXSLFK issued for 10 years. Water will be taken from two wells, and two ponds for golf course irrigation and water supply purposes.

The application was withdrawn and the file has been closed. No approval has been issued.
