A decision was made to issue an Environmental Compliance Approval (Air) for Burlington Rifle and Revolver Club, a recreational shooting club located at 1540 King Road in Burlington, Ontario.

We are moving forward with regulatory changes that will require proponents to self-register more types of waste management systems online. These changes will make it easier for the waste management sector to obtain environmental permissions and begin operations faster, while continuing to protect human health and the environment.

We have issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) for the establishment of an onsite sewage system and subsurface disposal works, rated at 26,000 litres per day, to service a sustainable tourism business at 1730 Front Road in the Town of St. Williams, County of Norfolk, Ontario.

Laverne and Erma Weber application for a Class A licence to extract aggregate from above the water table for the establishment of a new pit has been approved.

An aggregate licence was issued to Greenwood Construction Company Limited to remove more than 20,000 tonnes of aggregate annually from a pit. 

The Ministry is proceeding with enhancements and operational changes to Ontario’s Qualification Program by allowing the use of the Ministry’s digital Building Code during qualification exams, and allowing candidates more time per question. No decisions have been made at this time about the potential design-based changes proposed for the program.

The variance is approved.

The permit application has been withdrawn and terminated at the proponent’s request.

Exploration Permit was issued by the Director of Exploration. The Exploration Permit is valid for three (3) years from the date of issue.

The Corporation of the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a pit in the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on August 19, 2019 regarding application 57-C-173176 for the creation of one new recreational lot on Centre Lake at PIN 31387-0075 in Galbraith unincorporated township, District of Algoma. This decision can be appealed until September 8, 2019.

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-25-000172 to 2254022 Ontario Ltd. for early exploration activities.

The decision is to issue the mineral exploration permit.

We have amended the Renewable Energy Approvals regulation to add eligibility requirements related to electricity demand. The amendments also prohibit a renewable energy approval from being issued for large wind projects if their power purchase agreements were cancelled by the Independent Electricity System Operator.

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-20-000088 to Agnico Eagle Mines Limited for early exploration activities near Kirkland Lake, Ontario.

A decision was made to move ahead with regulatory changes under the Conservation Authorities Act to make associated regulatory changes to support streamlined, timely and consistent conservation authority permitting decisions and ensure permit decisions are focused on natural hazard considerations.

An amended Environmental Compliance Approval has been issued to Shell Canada Products, located at their petroleum distribution terminal at 1010 McNabb Street in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

An amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval (Air) No. 8264-73QN7D has been granted to Hudson Boats International Inc. This amendment is for the addition of a new priming paint booth and to reflect the current operations at the facility.

Thames Valley Aggregates Inc. was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a pit below the water table in the Municipality of Thames Centre.
