This decision is for a renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 2234-BC6MVG for Gowest Gold Ltd. for dewatering purposes. Water will be taken from two wells related to dewatering and water supply activities, located in the Township of Tully, District of Cochrane, Ontario. This permit was issued on March 30, 2031 under permit No. 1503-BYRR5G.

This decision is for the renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 2635-8HVQ4R, issued to Rio Algom Limited to take water for the purpose of impoundment of water from Westner Lake to prevent acid generation. Permit was released on March 30, 2021 under permit No. 7475-BYRMXV.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) was issued to EACOM Timber Corporation in support of an existing Elk Lake sawmill facility located, at 1 Sixth Street in the Township of James, District of Timiskaming, Ontario, for the sewage works to improve water quality discharging from saw mill building.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval was granted to BCP IV Service Station Limited (BCP IV SERVICE STATION LP) for the construction of wastewater infrastructure works to service a proposed gas station, convenience store and car wash facility development, located at 32 Clair Road East in the Town of Guelph, Ontario.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 7184-BZ5SAE on March 25, 2021, which cancels and replaces Permit to take Water No. 7503-A59QN8, for 6980848 Canada Corporation located in Ottawa, Ontario.

The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of March 26, 2026.

We are moving forward with changes to the Ontario Water Resources Act to require water bottling companies to have the support of their local host municipality for a new or increased groundwater taking in their community.

We are moving forward with enhancements to Ontario’s policies, programs and scientific tools for managing water takings to ensure water resources in the province are protected and used sustainably.

We are moving forward with guidance to help enhance the management of water takings in areas where quantity is a concern and where there are competing demands for water. We are also revoking the interim guidance on water bottling renewals at the same time that the enhancements to Ontario’s water taking program will be put in place on April 1, 2021.

On January 9, 2017 the ministry proposed a Transitional Operating Agreement (TOA) between the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change and the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority, under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016. After considering input received, a decision was made to finalize the TOA.

The Ministry of Infrastructure has updated its Statement of Environmental Values to reflect the changes in its structure and mandate, as well as to acknowledge the priority of addressing climate change.

A new Permit to Take Water No. 2575-BYTTUQ has been issued to Claridge Homes (1717 Carling) Inc., on March 29, 2021, for dewatering purposes related to construction activities located in Ottawa, Ontario. The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of March 29, 2023.

An amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 8-2097-89-006 has been granted to Miller Paving Limited, a ready-mix concrete plant located in Acton, in the Town of Halton Hills, Ontario.

This decision is for a renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 2232-8CDQLE. Permit to Take Water No. 4174-BZ5SS2 was issued to Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club Association on March 23, 2021 for the purpose of golf course irrigation. The permit expires on March 15, 2031.
