The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has received Official Plan Amendment 45 from the City of Kitchener for a decision. The adopted Official Plan Amendment 45 revises Site-Specific Policy 15.D.12.40 to increase the maximum permitted height to 24 storeys within the ‘Mixed Use’ designation for lands municipally known as 490 Huron Road.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has received Official Plan Amendment 58 from the City of Kitchener for a decision. The adopted Official Plan Amendment 58 adds Specific Policy Area 76 to Map 5 that establishes maximum floor space ratios, building heights, and introduces a new holding provision to ensure implementation of a noise study.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has received Official Plan Amendment 59 from the City of Kitchener for a decision. The adopted Official Plan Amendment 59 modifies the implementation date for Inclusionary Zoning policies within Protected Major Transit Station Areas, changing it from January 1, 2025, to January 1, 2026.
We have posted proposed legislative amendments to the Crown Forest Sustainability Act,1994 (CFSA) on Ontario’s Regulatory Registry that, if approved, would enable us to make regulations that would create a more efficient process for the removal of forest resources for non-forestry purposes.
We are proposing to amend the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016. These changes would enable Ontario’s producer responsibility framework to be more responsive to the needs of business and allow government to assess the effectiveness of any future changes to the framework.
