Re: ERO 025-0380 - Proposed interim changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and a proposal for the Species Conservation Act, 2025
The Toronto Ornithological Club objects to any changes to the Endangered Species Act that weakens the protection of endangered, rare or species at risk. The proposed Species Conservation Act opens a process that should be based on scientific data, to political interreference. There are many loopholes in Bill 5: Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act 2025 that will further chip away at Ontario's biodiversity, a loss that robs future generations of Ontarians of their biodiverse inheritance.
