I am opposed to the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act. Allowing the government to take species of the SARO List removes the independence of the listing process. Creating no protection zones goes against the reason to have endangered species legislation. Allowing industry to go ahead with activities before they have a permit makes it difficult to maintain protection for species at risk. This proposed bill makes a mockery of protection for species at risk.
