This proposal is missing several important details that should be available to the public to make proper conclusion on the impacts it will have on the Saugeen watershed. The proponents fail to provide adequate details on the methods that will be used to remove water from the Saugeen watershed and more importantly, how that water will be disposed of. Is the proponent going to pump water directly from the river? Is the proponent going to retrieve ground water? If this suggested project is to be allowed, the proponent must set aside an appropriate monetary amount that can be used for restoration and conservation of the Saugeen watershed. Has the proponent considered how this will impact the watershed? They suggest that this will have some impact, but do not provide many details on the extent of this. As of now, there will be a significant influence on the biota that use the Saugeen River/ watershed in this area. The proponent should consider finding a more environmentally focus method that does not require constant new water, and they can clean / reuse effluent water. If this project is to be accepted and permitted, the above questions and concerns must be addressed. As of now, there is too many issues that are not fully considered for this to be a sustainable project on the Saugeen River.
