This comment concerns ERO…

This comment concerns ERO 025-0587.

I have been made aware of this proposal today (3July2025). The proposal as described is not specific with respect to the source of the water to be used for aggregate washing nor does it describe where the spent water will be discharged to. However the proposal is identified as a category 3 and therefore has me concerned for negative impact to our local water systems.

The Saugeen and Styx rivers are important to our local communities as a source of water but it is limited. We depend on these rivers in our daily life. If this proposal results in reducing the amount of water available in the rivers or their water quality our area would be hurt. Wildlife or farms which depend on these rivers could be devastated by a lack of or poor quality of our river water.

I will look into this further, to better understand what is being proposed but I want express my concerns at this time. I live on the Saugeen river and I am not in favour of this proposal as it stands. This proposal should not be approved. I fear that the risk to the environment, the safety of local communities and our local economy could be negatively impacted. The aggregate business while import to our economy and our province should not over ride the risk posed by this proposal (project).
