If the proposed Bill 108 is passed, we will see a huge and adverse effect on the quality of the air, water, land, and subsequently, our health. The Conservation Authorities Act is extremely important to maintain the health of our environment through programs and services by the Conservation Authorities in our neighborhoods. Not only will floodplains and drinking water not be properly managed, but the province will ultimately lose money because of the adverse effects Bill 108 will cause. Ontario will have to restore once-fertile land, find clean sources of water.. but how? Environmental health is about protection and preventative measures. Conservation Authority workers as well as thousands of volunteers choose to help and keep the environment clean. If this Bill is passed, who else will?
