To whom it may concern;
In reading the proposed amendment 1 to A Place to Grow: GPGGH, my questions and concerns are;
1) Growth continues to be suggested as a purely lateral and surface area growth, opposed to growth planning that prioritizes intensive and vertical growth options. Commuter culture is reinforced by the fact that communities are frequently spread out and places to live and places to work are to be far and divided.
2) Complete communities in which green and carbon neutral connectivity were not mentioned at all. As covid shows us, telecommuting can rise and there are less needs to be in a shared workplace in order for jobs to be completed effectively in some sectors.
3) The MTSA and PSEZ section was ambiguous and unclear. Having discussion on more diverse areas of employment in the same area as the More Homes, More Choice discussion minimized both and did not state a why either were being advocated for.
Thank you for your time and consideration, I look forwards to seeing and hearing more in the future,
A future Ontario Planner and current social and environmental advocate.
