I propose the elimination of the letter of opinion for the control of invasive plants on private lands. This process is slow and usually the window to treat any plants has passed. A qualified applicator should be able to recognize and treat the plants without the permissions that are required. The use of herbicides for this purpose is not for cosmetic use. Maybe a certification through the OIPC could be beneficial to all.
To have to apply for a letter for each and every site for the same plant ie: Japanese Knotweed is redundant. There needs to be a better way.
