I have been a city gardener for over 30 years and in the last 14 years I have lived in Guelph. The house I bought, I would soon learn, had goutweed, white mulberry trees, lily of the valley, mint ,periwinkle and not mention a big fat Norway Maple growing on our property. It's been quite an education for me to learn about these plants and how they ruined the local native species and personal properties. I support any plan that will help stop the proliferation of all and any invasive species and I wish we could have more public education about this. I still see variegated goutweed and periwinkle being sold in nurseries.
This is shameful and companies that our selling these plants or seeds should be stopped from doing so.
Thank you.
