Regarding the introduction/escape of wild pigs in Ontario. If we don't want them to survive in the wild? I suggest the FWCA and ISA be amended to allow hunting of wild pigs under the authority of a small game license year round.

Rather than just listing specific watercrafts that could carry invasive species indicate ALL watercraft. Anything that goes in the water and can be transported to another body of water. ie kayak, paddle boards, paddle boats. Read more

This comment is in reference to the invasive plant portion of this proposal as this is a topic I am comfortable commenting on as a current CCA-ON. I think these rules and guidelines are logical and reasonable for people to carry out. My only comment is around enforcement. Read more

Absolutely criminal that Eurasian Water Milfoil is not considered an invasive species; it is in waterways throughout Ontario, causing ever-increasing environmental injury to the quality of freshwater. PLEASE add to the list.

Eurasian Water Milfoil is destroying wildlife habitats, other aquatic plant life and clogging lakes, rendering lakes into swamps. EWM must be considered an invasive species in Ontario.

Strong opposition to the MNRF proposal of eliminating Wild Boar farming in the province of Ontario. When you want to eliminate an invasive species, then you should be going after the invasive species. Responsibly farmed Wild Boar are not causing the problem of wild pigs. Read more

I live on McFarlane Lake in the Sudbury region. Eurasian watermilfoil should also be added to the invasive species in my opinion. It is extremely invasive on our lake as other lakes in our area and should be considered.

I find it very short-sighted that this proposal does not list Eurasian water milfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum) as an invasive species. I'm certain that this aquatic plant is much more prevalent in our Ontario lakes than the listed Hydrocharis morsus-ranae.

I believe it is important to add Norway Maple to the restricted list. It is sold in our nurseries and is prevalent across Ontario. This invasive tree outcompetes endemic species and reduces biodiversity. Thank you for your consideration. Read more

I would like to see the plant known as Vinca or Periwinkle added to the invasive species list. As an avid hiker, I see this plant in areas of the Bruce trail and many conservation areas. Read more

I propose the elimination of the letter of opinion for the control of invasive plants on private lands. This process is slow and usually the window to treat any plants has passed. A qualified applicator should be able to recognize and treat the plants without the permissions that are required. Read more

I have been a city gardener for over 30 years and in the last 14 years I have lived in Guelph. The house I bought, I would soon learn, had goutweed, white mulberry trees, lily of the valley, mint ,periwinkle and not mention a big fat Norway Maple growing on our property. Read more

I agree with these regulations, and think even more strict enforcement on additional invasive species should be taken. With respect to invasive plants, this should include prohibiting sale / trade etc. Read more
