I am a professional engineer and scientist. The scientific evidence is conclusive. The enormous emission of CO2 into the environment by humans is a significant cause of global warming creating insidious climatic changes. The current procrastination by governments, businesses and the general public to initiate and support mitigation measures must be transformed into immediate actions that are sustained in order to avoid a global crisis.

The Cap and Trade program has been a positive strategy that showed leadership and courage. By placing a price on pollution, the polluters pay for their emissions and return the revenues into other initiatives that lower our carbon footprint. I support legally binding emissions targets in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement. Ontario’s electrical energy supply is still only produced from about 25% renewable sources. Invest the money derived from Cap and Trade into expediting renewable energy, save energy programs and boosting the clean energy economy. I will vote for the party that can achieve these goals.
