We have been harvesting bait for 25yrs. Harvesting for the purpose of killing and preserving to fill a need in the retail market does not make sense to me. Allowing flexibility on exiting and re-entering a zone for the purpose of fishing makes sense. In my opinion Leeches should not have been part of the restrictions to begin with and should be allowed to move within the province. Leeches along with all bait should be allowed to move North to South through-out the province without being subject to the new restrictions and South to North with strict restrictions. There is no reason my supplier in the south that has been bringing me bait for many years cannot have his river fish tested and delivered. Strict testing and screening within Harvesters and Retailers would relieve the supply and demand issue recently created by the ministry. My winter supplier can deliver to waters within 15 minutes of my location which already puts that bait in same watersheds.
