Provincial parks should be a safe place for animals and plants to grow and live safley. Allowing hunting regardless of how sustainable you intend to make it, defeats this purpose. There is a plethora of crown land available for hunting in ontario and provincial parks do not need to allow it. Allowing Hunting also defeats the peacefulness, Of the park. No one wants to hear gunshots ringing out as there trying to enjoy the amenities and recreational activities that our provincial parks provide. S. 2 (2) (a) of O.REG 347/07 under the PPCRA states: Exept with written authorization of the superintendent no person shall,
(a) Distrurb, cut, kill, remove or harm any plant, tree, or natural object in a provincial park. By allowing hunting in these parks This essentially means that I can shoot and kill and animal, activilly have an effect on an entire food chain, but can’t pick up a stick? I fully support the expansion of our parks to enjoy more green, protected area, but allowing hunting defeats the purpose of so many PPCRA regulations.
