As I have drive around the Town of Simcoe, Delhi etc I see many vacant areas suitable to build dwellings. Now lets define affordable-isn't is specific to individual incomes? What is affordable to someone working minimum wage differs from those making 6 digits. I live outside of town limits and enjoy rural living living, kayaking down big creek, the marsh. I feel we are "lesser than" Quite a hypocrisy saying Norfolk is Ontario's garden, and a world biosphere close by- then pave it over. A council member made a comment on how "piece mealing" growth is not the way to go, I beg to differ, doesnt that what make villages/towns unique? Do we all need to have the same 'ol restaurant chains? To summarize Ross Batemans letter in the paper years ago-why would anyone want to leave a city to come to another city? More people=more cars=more garbage=more roadkill. I challenge the you to tip your neck back just a bit and see all that free space above you that doesnt need clearing. Look around at the old towns-dwelling above the businesses-look now at Walmart, etc, any dwellings overhead? Re think how your building and please read the book Our Wild Calling-describes how to bio design for the betterment of generations.-instead of a garden within a city-the city is in the garden. Look into the vacant lands/building within the town-dont take the lazy way out for developers to rake in the money and run, leaving the rest of us with a mess. Thank you
