To Whom It May Concern (and frankly it concerns all Ontarians),
I whole heartedly support expanding the conservation of lands in Ontario be it via Provincial Park designation, Federal, Conservation or Crown land. We require at least 30% of Southern Ontario be left natural. Developed areas area usually heat sinks with minimal permeable land. This must be countered with the preservation and unspoiled natural areas for heat and oxygen mitigating climate solutions. As well as, trees, openspaces, wetlands, extraordinary lands forms, wildlife corridors and watersheds must be protected. Furthermore views and vistas and passive recreation areas are critical to enlighten and regenerate our souls.
We are fortunate in the Town of the Blue Mountains to have conducted a natural heritage inventory and are on our way to identifying natural heritage systems and corridors. Ideally they would be conserved at the provincial or municipal level or at a minimum left unspoiled or for passive uses. Please assist in recognizing the importance of this movement.
All efforts to conserve our lands from human pressures and altered uses is most welcome. Keep going to preserve lands for all peoples.
