This proposed changed to the planning act is a very dangerous one. Through this proposed change, people in high density urban areas will be able to build laneway and garden suites that tower over their neighbours property, our invasion of their neighbours privacy, and will block out sunlight and Skyviews. it is the opinion of myself and my neighbours that this will set a dangerous precedent for building in cities. We all agree that we need more affordable housing options in the province, and especially in the city of Toronto, but these sorts of changes will not necessarily help that these are the kind of changes that will be latched onto by greedy property builders who are looking to charge Obscene amounts of money for rent and do not necessarily provide affordable housing options to people in need.
