Dear Conservative Party…

Dear Conservative Party members of parliament,

I am one among countless citizens residing in Ontario who are adamantly opposed to Bill 4. As you well know we are in the midst of a global crisis with regard to climate change. The recent UN Climate Report, based on comprehensive scientific research, makes plain the dire situation we find ourselves in, largely due to the inaction of our politicians.

I think is irresponsible for the Conservative Party to eliminate the province’s only climate plan without being clear with the public about the plan to replace it.

Further, we should be fostering the development of a global clean energy economy, not seeking to cripple it. The Cap and Trade system is a tested means of controlling pollution that deserves to be implemented here in Ontario; moreover a climate plan should contain binding targets to assure that we move in the right direction in our efforts to save future generations from an environmental cataclysm.

I would ask whoever is reading this to look into the eyes of your children and consider their future.
