This is a huge waste of time and taxpayer money. Providing citizens with safe (personal as well as environmental) alternative forms of transportation is important. Devoting money, time, and energy towards ripping up the infrastructure that already exists (and was paid for by taxpayer dollars) is a foolish, wasteful, and irresponsible decision.
