Climate change is a the #1 crisis in the world today. It is the biggest threat to the sustainability of our planet and the lives of people in Ontario, Canada, North America, and globally. Anyone who doubts it's veracity or seriousness is willfully blind, recklessly ignorant, and criminality irresponsible. We are world leaders in climate change research and science in the province and nationally. It's time we put what we know to be true to work.

This is not the time to pander to the special interests a few constituents. If Ford wants to leave a meaningful legacy with positive and lasting impact, he needs to support the environmental policies that are currently in place. This means being courageous and standing up to short-sighted, self-interested climate-change deniers that will object. He also needs to take a leadership role on this issue in Canada and build active support among his provincial colleagues.

This is a life and death issue that he can help to address. Everyone I know - friends, family, clients, colleagues - is focused and worried about the issue. Climate change has already demonstrated its power to destroy. Time is quickly running out.
