As a Toronto citizen, it is despicable to suggest that the rights of automobile drivers is priority over that of cyclists, especially in the midst of an ongoing climate crisis. If anything, it should be easier for bike lanes to be approved on both a municipal and provincial level. The number of cyclists continues to increase exponentially in this city and to create an environment that does not encourage and promote a healthier, more ecofriendly way to traverse this sprawling city is egregious at best.
