I am in full agreement with the reasons provided by the Green Party of Ontario, in its submission of October 11, for why this bill is a terrible mistake. Apart from the increased environmental and economic impacts that will result from this bill, its passage removes Ontario from the leadership position that it has established in addressing climate change, however imperfect the details of that effort have been. The focus should be on addressing these imperfections and moving forward, not on retrenchment.
