I believe ending the cap and trade program is a huge mistake. While the program is not the single solution to mitigating climate change, it is a step in the right direction. The program funded many projects, including the Ontario Municipal Commuter Cycling Program (OMCC) which will have a fraction of the legacy it could of had with continued renewal. Ending the cap and trade program sets us as a society back, and left waiting for the next scheme that will work towards addressing climate change, health, and human well-being. My job as well as many others in the emerging green economy will be impacted by this.
