I am commenting to express my grave concern with Schedule 3 of this Bill regarding the exemption from the Environmental Assessment Act for Highway 413.
We are facing a climate emergency. We have seen unprecedented flooding this past year. Paving over farmland and the Greenbelt comes at a significant cost both upfront and downstream (both literally and figuratively). This is not a project that warrants overriding existing Acts that have been set up to protect our environment. The risk of significant consequences to our ecosystem are far too great to expedite this project.
