Ground water is a LIMITED…

Ground water is a LIMITED RESOURCE! Water is a basic requirement for life. Morally and socially, it is not a 'commodity' appropriate for trading-off our health for the profit of corporations! And any benefit of selling water would be a huge expense to replace (or the corporations would be doing what we'll need to do with public funds to access water). It makes no moral or fiscal sense to allow corporations to take our water.

Our population is growing. Climate change is putting unprecedented pressure on our natural resources. Once the water we count on is gone, the cost and time to access other sources of water is huge. Why would we consider almost giving our water away to corporations so they can make a profit while putting ourselves in the position of not having full access to our water supply in all times, but especially when we need it most, in times of drought or just greater pWater iWe need to protect our water supply for the use, enjoyment, and health of the local people - the people of Ontario!

Please extend the current moratorium on new or increased permits to take groundwater for bottled water so the Ministry can further advance it's understanding of water resources and future water needs of the people of Ontario.
