This is an egregiously short-sighted "solution" that will endanger cyclists' lives. It discourages the evolution of modern urban transportation and prioritizes motorized vehicles over human beings and the important work the city of Toronto has been doing to reach climate change and livability goals.
Allowing the province to not only interfere with but override municipal decisions is a dangerous precedent.
This overreach smacks of a governing party that panders to what they believe are populist perspectives, NOT what Ontarians actually want and need.
Stay out of our cities!
