Extending a moratorium on water bottling permits is crucial to the economic health of Ontario farmers and regional Ontario municipalities. Both farmers and municipalities have suffered a loss of income/increase in expenses due to excessive and below-market-prices of water being extracted by for-profit entities from Ontario's groundwater springs. My children, and their children should have the right to clean and existing water from our basins. Extending bottling permits diminishes our regional resources and leaves our future generations at risk for drought, crop failures, and potential economic bankruptcy. We need to protect our livelihoods, our jobs, and our-life giving resources.
