I firmly believe that our groundwater and all other water resources should not be owned or controlled by any corporate entity, including Nestle Waters. It should not be considered by anyone to be a corporate asset - it is a PUBLIC resource.
Studies on the impact of water taking, such as Nestle's in Puslinch, should be 100% independent of all parties with a financial interest or connection to lobby groups.
Water is a finite resource, and should be under the stewardship of the people who rely on it for drinking and growing food, especially those of us in the areas of Wellington County in which Nestle Waters continues to acquire and profit from our water resources.
It is not believable that taking millions of gallons daily from groundwater resources does not have an immediate, ongoing, and future impact on the supply.
Climate change and the decimation of our environment is a huge concern: Nestle Waters continues to threaten our future water supply, and continues to be allowed to use single serve and other plastic bottles. The vast amount of waste they produce has not been expressed as major concern - there seems to be too narrow a focus on the vast amount of water they take, almost at no cost to Nestle, and little discussion about the fact that Nestle Waters IS a major polluter.
