I support the proposal to extend the moratorium on new ground water extraction permits for water bottling. In southern Ontario many of us live in areas where ground water is at a premium. We have clean drinking water on tap, so placing this unnecessary stress on our ground water supplies is environmentally deleterious. Further, the voluminous plastic waste from bottled waster is environmentally harmful, and it uses up landfill space that tax payers have funded.
