Thank you for the opportunity to provide comments on the Proposed Amendments to MECP's Excess Soil Regulation Posted on ERO (019-9196). The City of Cambridge staff are generally supportive of the proposed amendments. Specifically, The City of Cambridge is pleased to see that The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks will be adopting more flexibility related to how SWM Pond sediment might be managed. The City believes that these changes will make it easier and more practical to effectively manage SWM Pond sediment which should facilitate municipalities' ability to perform maintenance cleanings of these facilities.
